GRANT Money Pays OFF !!!

The people of Long County can rest assured that the monies awarded back in FEB 2008 from the $347,800 justice grant is being put to good use. So far the department has purchased new X-26 Tasers, Alco-Sensor II (BAC) testers, new RADAR's and perhaps most important (at least to the deputies) ... NEW patrol vehicles. That's right, the aging white cruisers in our fleet will soon be retired to be succeeded by colorful replacements with ALL-NEW graphics and state of the art features. We now have all our new vehicles in as of Nov 22nd 2008 which includes 5 2009 Crown Victoria Police Interceptors (2 black, 2 navy, and 1 Arizona beige). The sixth vehicle is an '09 F-150 unmarked (Chief Deputy's) cruiser. The new cars have been outfitted with digital camera systems with audio and video capabilities, rugged push bumpers, and heavy duty spotlights.

Our office has also used the funds to hire a full time receptionist Mrs. BETH REDDISH and we are happy to welcome her aboard. She has caught on rather quickly and is real good at what she does. She will be a great addition to the department's personnel.
